༄ What stands out on the Tsomoriri – Spiti trek is the remote feel of the route. Other trekking routes of Ladakh are nowadays quite busy, while this traverse sees less people. We like it for this reason, along with the wildlife of the area. We’ve spotted blue sheep, Ladakh Urial, Tibetan antelope, lammergeier and marmot on this section of trail. The southern side of the Parang La (the 5000m pass we’ll be crossing) has been the site of some interesting snow leopard research in recent years (and some excellent photography and videography). Join us for an achievable challenging trek along the Tibetan border of the Indian Himalayas. A unique adventure and one for making some great memories of real Himalayan adventure.
SAFETY
Since we are trekking over a 5000 meter+ (16,350ft+) pass, we will take adequate time for everyone to feel comfortable at lesser altitudes for the duration of the trip. You can be rest assured that we will take a conservative approach to acclimatization.
THE SETUP
Each member will have their own roomy 2 person Mountain Hardwear tent (4 person tent for couples). The dining tent is set up with each member having their own camp chair, books pertinent to the trek/climb, maps, solar charging for electronics, and snacks as you would like them when we arrive to camps.
YOUR GUIDE
Kunsang Thakchod will be leading this trek alongside with his top notch local team. Kunsang worked as a trekking guide in the Himalayas for 14 years. Kunsang hails from Himachal Pradesh, India and is fluent in Tibetan, Hindi and English.
