Auden’s Col Trek. A spectacular trek in the Gangotri region of the Garhwal Himalaya of India. Auden’s Col is a high altitude mountain pass connecting Rudugaira valley and Bhilangna valley in India. It is situated at 5,490 metres (18,010 ft) elevation and connects the ridge coming from Gangotri III (6580 m) peak on the north-west and the ridge coming from Jogin I (6465 m) on the east, and also binds a glacier coming from Jogin I on the north side of Rudugaira valley, and Khatling glacier on the south side of Bhilangna valley.

Auden’s Col sits high above the holy shrine of Gangotri, between the peaks of Jogin and Gangotri in the Garhwal Himalaya. Gangotri itself is one of the sources of the Ganga, the holiest river in India. Crossing Auden’s and the Mayali pass link Gangotri to Kedarnath two of the holy Dham that mark the beginning of the River Ganga. The crossing is a real adventure, hiking on glacier at higher elevation for the pass crossing day. A serious trekking achievement in its own right, this route is excellent for challenging oneself and is a “wow, I really did it!” experience. The Auden’s Col Trek is a life achievement.
